Billionaire Elon Musk has always been unpredictable and, once again, made a surprise.
About a day after Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal wrote that Musk had joined the Twitter board, Agrawal wrote Sunday evening that he shouldn’t have finally joined the social media platform’s board of directors. .
“Elon has joined in not joining our board,” he wrote, sharing a memo he sent to company employees. In it, he noted that Muskie, who recently became Twitter’s largest shareholder, was expected to join the company’s board of directors “on the basis of official verification and acceptance.”
“Elon’s appointment to the council was supposed to be officially on April 9, but Elon announced that morning that he would no longer join the council,” Agravali wrote. “I think this is for the best.”
He added that the company “will remain open” to the introduction of the mask. (The full note can be read below.)
To updateAn hour and a half after Agrawal announced that Muskie would not be joining the board, Tesla’s CEO tweeted:

The tweet was later deleted.
For the past six days, Musk has been asking his followers if they want a Twitter edit button and if they should turn the company’s San Francisco headquarters into a homeless shelter. He also suggested that anyone who signs up for Twitter Blue, paying $ 3 a month, should get an authorization tick, among other ideas.
Twitter announced Musk’s appointment to the SEC on Tuesday. During his two years on the board and shortly thereafter, Musk was not allowed to own more than 14.9% of the company’s stock. Musk bought 9% of Twitter on March 14, paying about $ 2.9 billion, according to a filing with the SEC on Monday.
“From talking to Elon over the past few weeks, it became clear to us that he was of great importance to our advice,” Agravl wrote at the time.
Musk replied on Twitter shortly thereafter: “I’m looking forward to working with Parag and the Twitter Board to make significant improvements to Twitter in the coming months!
Elon has decided not to join our advice. I have sent a short note to the company, I will share it with you all here. pic.twitter.com/lfrXACavvk
