Bill Maher Asks A Question About ‘Real Time’ That Not Even A Meat Head Can’t Answer

Those who accuse Bill Maher of straying too far from his liberal roots should be pleased with the line-up at Friday’s meeting. real time on HBO. Filmmaker and writer John Waters, Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar, director/actor and ultra-liberal activist Rob Reiner were clearly among the group leaning to the left of the aisle.

Except that Maher isn’t afraid to stray from the script and call one of his guests on a difficult subject: Hunter Biden’s laptop and the media hiding the story.

Maher fell into his trap early on and allowed his panelists to present their views on abortion, Joe Biden, Jan. 6, and recent spending bills.

At one point, Maher got fed up with it, mocking former President Donald Trump’s glee over the Boxgate problems as Reiner and Klobuchar said “the walls are approaching”.

“Do you know how often I hear that on MSNBC?” Maher said Reiner’s statements that Trump will be removed from office. “We have it now!”

A few times later, Maher lauded the assassination, citing how the Hunter Biden laptop story unfolded and the effectiveness of the evidence for his influence.

Maher spoke about a recent statement from podcaster Sam Harris, who said the plot to keep the story quiet until the 2020 election was good because it served to defeat Trump.

Maher asked if it was good to participate in such pressure, if the other party was that bad, everything was right.

Rainer looked angry and tried to change the subject on January 6.I rebel. Maher did not let him escape. “They buried the Hunter Biden story.”

Reiner tried to regroup, refusing the proposition. “Are you sure they did? I don’t know”

“Because you only watch MSNBC,” Maher replied.

“You have to make sure you treat people fairly,” Klobuchar tried to defend Reiner, saying, “I don’t know if everyone is saying this.” He added that he sits back and lets the Justice Department do its job, which avoids the real question.

Earlier, John Waters stopped by to talk about his new book. Liarmouth: A Romance That Feels Wrong. The conversation ranged from the different choices on the sidewalks along Santa Monica Boulevard to the Waters exhibition planned for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences museum.

Waters was quoted by a friend of the Hollywood Walk of Fame star as “closer than ever!”

“I’m making fun of myself and the rules I live by,” said Waters, to avoid any takedowns during his controversial career. “I’m laughing at political correctness.”

Waters once worked with Johnny Depp, but graciously refused to discuss the incident, except to say, “I wish they’d get back together and drive everybody crazy.”

Maher’s statement about the new rules was a version of extra arguments, complete with a real figure for support. Maher praised Silvana Fardos, the mother of the person who attacked Salman Rushdie, and said she was an example of courage that we should all aspire to.
