Peitera Zatko, the service’s former head of security, said the platform had an “apparent lack of attention” to keeping users’ data safe. He said that half of Twitter’s servers have outdated software, and administrators are hiding real data on the number of attacks and lack of data protection. Meanwhile, the top executive was fired from the company in early 2022.
Elon Musk’s lawyers were very pleased with such comments. However, Twitter representatives have already given their answer: They said that the example given is not valid from a legal point of view. Musk now wants Zatko to testify in court as a witness.
As we wrote earlier, this spring the billionaire announced his plans to buy Twitter. But a few months later, the businessman refused the deal, as the owners of the social network did not provide information about fake accounts. In response, Twitter representatives sued the billionaire.
