Filming of Lady in the Lake, the new television series starring Natalie Portman, had to be delayed due to threats from local drug dealers. They urged the entire team of the Apple TV+ streaming site to abandon its location in the western part of downtown Baltimore, Maryland. This was reported by The Baltimore Banner, citing a police report.
At first, the dealers extorted $50,000 from the band, but the producers refused to pay. Local drug dealers then started threatening to shoot one of the crew members if they didn’t leave the set in this situation. After that, they stopped the process of filming the series and started looking for another place for further work.
Lake in the Lake is a television series directed by Alma Harel and based on the bestselling novel of the same name by author Laura Lippmap. The action takes place in Baltimore in 1966. The protagonist of Natalie Portman is an ordinary housewife who becomes a detective reporter and begins to investigate mysterious murders. Filming began in Maryland in April this year and will continue until October.
