A Kazakhstani actress fell into slavery in Laos: “Here I realized I was a commodity”
Anel Bermaganbetova
Kazakh actress Anel Bermaganbetova fell into slavery after she left for Thailand. She spoke about this on social networks, and then the journalists of the Super edition were able to contact her. The girl was looking for a job, and she was offered a place in a company with a good income.
In the morning, he went to Chiang Rai. On the way, Anel suspected that she had been taken to the wrong place, but paid no attention to it. Anel ended in a place called the Golden Triangle, located on the border of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar.
Instead of the double room promised at the hotel, it was brought to the hostel with eight beds. He soon realized that he had been deceived: it was forbidden to work there, and his visa, valid for one month, stated that the visit was a one-time visit. Anel asked to be released, but was told they had “paid” for him and had to work for a year. It is impossible to escape from there: there is a high fence surrounded by barbed wire, the place is controlled by armed guards. The girl managed to write several messages asking for help on social networks, but the administrator forced them to be deleted. Anel also posted a video of her showing a dirty hostel, a fence surrounded by barbed wire, and attaching a text message in which she was threatened with her manager.
They can not help the girl yet, but after the publication of this story, representatives of the Russian embassy forwarded official information to the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Public Security. We also managed to reach the embassies of Vietnam, Thailand and Hanoi, the Russian Federation’s representation in Laos.
