Rebecca Rhine of the Cinematographers Guild will join DGA as Western’s Executive Director in October

Rebecca Raine moves from the Guild of Filmmakers to the Guild of Directors. She will be the new Western Executive of the DGA starting in October.

Raine, who has been the National Executive Director of the Cinematographers Guild since 2015, announced in May that he will step down when his contract expires in September.

DGA announces key dates for its 75th annual awards

At DGA, he will oversee the Guild’s western region and national responsibility for the Department for Contracts, Security, and Agency Relations and will work closely with the Department of Government Affairs on state and local matters.

He has served as director of the film industry’s health and retirement plan and as a member of the executive committee of the Los Angeles County Labor Federation. Prior to joining the Cinematographers Guild, IATSE Local 600, he was Executive Director of the Association of Municipal Executives, representing San Francisco City and County Managers.

Other positions he has held during his career include SEIU Local 1000 North Regional Director, AFTRA National Assistant Executive Director for Public Policy and Strategic Planning, Executive Director of the AFT College Council and AFTRA / SAG Local Executive Director in San Francisco.
