Cinedigm acquires North America with Fantastic Fest’s horror “Deep Fear”

Exclusive: Cinedigm acquired all North American rights to the Belgian / French horror film deep fear. Directed by Gregory Begin (losers revolution), the survival thriller will premiere in the US at Fantastic Fest next month and then debut on Cinedigm Screambox’s Bloody Disgusting genre streaming platform on October 11.

The film follows three students on the adventure of a lifetime as they decide to celebrate their recent graduation in Paris. Wanting to do something more interesting than visiting local tourist spots, they choose to venture into the capital’s mysterious catacombs. Safe underground, they find the escape route they were looking for, not knowing they are not alone in the dark. When they discover a bunker built during the Nazi occupation of World War II, they have no way of knowing the danger lurking inside. Something, someone is chasing them and the group needs to get out before it’s too late.

Victor Meatle, Sophia Lesaffre, Joseph Oliven and Cassim Meesters are the stars of the film, which will also screen as part of the UK’s Fright Fest in August.

Written by Nicolas Takiani (France 2’s alex hugo), the film is produced by Sébastien Deloyer, Francois Touwaid and Nur Sadar.

The deal was brokered by Brandon Hill, Acquisitions Manager, on behalf of Cinedigm, and Gregory Shambet, on behalf of WTFilms, on behalf of the filmmakers.

Fantastic Fest 2022 will take place September 22-29 in Austin.
