Paolo Scudieri’s $24 million superyacht burns down in Spain
Fire on yacht Aria SF
According to the news of The Guardian, Italian millionaire Paolo Scudieri’s superyacht Aria SF burned down off the Spanish island of Formentera. It is estimated at $24 million.
The ship, which was launched in April, was delivered to its owner in July. In honor of this event, Scudieri washed the deck of the yacht with flower petals and threw a champagne party. In September, he planned to display his purchase at an exhibition in Monaco.
The sporty exterior design of the 44-meter yacht was made by Enrico Gobbi’s Team For Design team, while the interior design was made by world-renowned designer Luca Dini.
The investigation continues to determine the cause of the fire. According to eyewitnesses, a plume of smoke can be observed rising from Aria SF from the neighboring island of Ibiza. There were nine passengers and seven crew on board at the time of the fire, none of them injured.
This isn’t the only Italian-built yacht damaged by fire in recent months. In July, the 27-metre superyacht Pershing 88 caught fire off the coast of Positano, while in April, the 27-metre Sanlorenzo SX in Port de Valencia was destroyed in a fire.
