“Rolf Harris: Hiding in Plain Sight”: ITV Documentary Exploring the Shocking Truth Behind the Abusive Crimes of the Former “Animal Hospital” Host

ITV will explore the truth behind the abusive crimes of disgraced former TV star Rolf Harris in a two-part independent documentary series by Optomen backed by All3Media, coming soon to ITVX.

Rolf Harris: Hiding in plain sight (w / t) Talk to his victims, the police who investigated him, and colleagues who worked alongside him to recount the rise and fall of a TV star who portrayed himself as a harmless eccentric with a devoted wife.

After the scandal Jimmy Savile, ex Veterinarian The multiple presenter and writer was investigated for abusing his daughter’s boyfriend when he was 13, only to come forward on charges of abusing them in the shows he worked on for years.

ITV’s films will explore Harris’ ruthless attitude in court and the determination of his wife and daughter to back him up. He served three years in prison in the UK and was released in 2017.

The commission comes shortly after Netflix Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story which similarly explored how a famous TV star managed to get away with it for decades.

“There are few shocking stories like that of Rolf Harris,” said ITV commissioner Kate Teckman. “These films give a voice to Harris’ accusers and reveal how a seemingly healthy ‘national treasure’ was able to abuse and humiliate its victims in plain sight.”
