Is it a new planet? A forgotten star? A great scientific discovery? No, it’s just Spanish cured meats and we’ve been trolled in style.
Post a photo of a planet, which obviously isn’t one
The story takes place on Twitter. On 31 July Étienne Klein, research director at the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) and producer of “Science en question” on France Culture, shared an intriguing photo, that of the star Next Centaursconsidered the closest to the Sun.

Many Internet users, fascinated by the bright color of the star, are moved and fascinated by this unusual astrological discovery.
But quickly, on August 3, Etienne Klein confessed to his hoax, posting the following tweet:

Angry, the internet users obviously did not like being taken for hams (or slices of chorizo in this case), since the scientist who had seized the hoax – the latter in fact was several years old had not invented anything – had to apologize to the police of humor.

It must specify that ” No objects related to Spanish cured meats exist anywhere else than on Earth The scientist will at least have had the merit of making us laugh, and, in this highly anxious atmosphere, we can only thank him.
