Frame from the clip “Not with you”

The group “DDT” presented a new video for the song “Not with you”. The premiere took place today on the band’s YouTube channel. The 10-minute video starts with frames where a drunk man talks about the “defective” new generation who “live one day”, trying various activities “like apples”. The character accuses modern youth, including their children, of irresponsibility: “They have everything in one day, but it was the same with us: you took, you chose – so be patient, like, dislike – be sick.” In contrast, his 17-year-old rival says his generation “lived for love”.

The characters of the clip are teenagers having fun at the party, participating in protests, fleeing the police and having sex. In the choir the leader of the group Yuri Shevchuk sings:

In the final, it turned out that the same “fathers” from the beginning of the video are security guards, and the main character ends up in a military educational institution.

The clip contains real photos of young people, including protests.

The song was featured on “DDT”, her 21st studio album titled “Creativity in the Void”, released in the fall of 2021.

Yuri Shevchuk has been openly opposed to the Russian Federation’s special military operation in Ukraine from the very beginning. In March, the team presented the song “Little Death” based on the events. In May, after the musician’s speech at a concert in Ufa, a protocol was drawn up on discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation: from the stage the musician took a negative attitude towards the special operation.

In early June, the band announced that the concert dedicated to the 40th anniversary of “DDT” in Moscow was postponed to June 2023, as the mayor of the capital did not allow it.
