At the MTV Europe Music Awards in November 2021, Barskikh was awarded as the best Russian artist.
From the very beginning of the military special operation in Ukraine, the singer spoke extremely sharply against the Russians. In March he banned the use of his music in Russia and canceled all concerts in that country, and refused to refund the audience tickets, saying that these funds would go to Ukraine’s needs.
In addition to Max Barsky, other Ukrainian celebrities joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the soloist of the Boombox group Andriy Khlyvnyuk.
