Grammy and Oscar-winning singer-songwriter HER will play Belle in ABC’s upcoming series Beauty and the Beast. The star will be the first Afro-Filipino to appear on the big screen as a French princess.
“I can’t believe I’m going to be a part of Beauty and the Beast legacy. The world will see the dark-skinned Filipino beauty! I have always wanted to be a Disney princess and have been able to work with two great directors, Hamish Hamilton and dear John M. Chu. It’s surreal, I’m so grateful,” said HER.
The creators promise that the upcoming movie will be packed with musical performances as well as new sets and costumes inspired by the classic story. The movie will air on ABC on December 15 and will air on Disney+ the next day.
