“Vikings” star Travis Fimmel to lead “Black Snow” limited series for streamer Stan, production in progress in Australia

The six-part series follows a murder mystery in a small town that rocked the South Sea Islands Australian community in northern Queensland. The show is financed and produced in association with All3Media International, which handles international sales. Sundance Now airs in the United States.

Also in the cast are newcomers Taliaja Blackman-Korova and Jameson Power, with Brooke Setchwell, Alexander English, Rob Carlton, Eric Thomson, Kim Gyngell and Australian singer Ziggy Ramo making their screen debut.

Stan Original is partly a coming-of-age drama and partly a detective story. In 1995, 17-year-old Isabelle Baker was killed. The crime shocked the town of Ashford and devastated the Isabel community in the Australian islands of the South Seas. The case was never solved, the killer was never found. In 2020, the opening of a time capsule reveals a mystery that leaves Detective James Cormack (Female) on the trail of the murderer.

Produced by Goalpost Television, the series is created by Lucas Taylor (Harrow), co-written with Boyd Kwakawut (black comedy) and Beatriz Christian (jindabyne). Directed by Sian Davies (Stan Original Series sparkling) and Matthew Saville (please like me) and shot by Murray Louis (finally marriage), the series is produced by Rosemary Blight of Goalpost (Invisible Man), with Lois Randall and Cailin Butler.
