Dua Lipa inspires youth, not only through her music but also her clothing style. While she recently she was the face of a Versace campaign and she just walked the runway for the latest haute couture show by Balenciaga, the author of the album Future nostalgia announces the imminent release of a new collection with Puma.
Dua Lipa x Puma are inspired by Trainspotting
For this second drop, Dua Lipa signs thirty pieces, filled with pastel pinks, bright purples and oranges, holographic stripes and Y2K accents. Everything is meant to be unisex and it seems to be able to marry quite easily with the rest of any wardrobe.
Dua Lipa tells the rowing The Brit was inspired by the rave culture of the 90s and 2000s:
“These periods inspire everything from my music to the way I dress today, so it was only natural to incorporate some of these color and silhouette combinations into this collection. “
Dua Lipa and Puma weave nostalgia cotton with Y2K butterflies
He cites as his favorite piece a set of high neck jumpsuits, completely inspired by one of his favorite films, Trainspotting (film released in 1996 and directed by Danny Boyle, set in Edinburgh in the nineties, where Ewan McGregor plays the role of a drug addict in the midst of heroin withdrawal). And what stands out above all are obviously the butterfly-shaped details found on both sides of the collection, such as symbol of metamorphosis, renewal, sublimation and Y2K motif par excellence.
