Gucci for pets is as kiki as it is overpriced

Collars, bowls, clothes, baskets worthy of antique benches … This new pet collection by Gucci goes from 150 € to 6500 €!

Whether you are for or against, pet clothing and accessories are a hell of a market. According to a 2019 SantéVet / Ipsos survey in France, 28% of dog owners and 11% of cat owners have already purchased a suit for their pet. Spending on dogs averages € 96 per year for clothes, compared to € 75 for cats, and 15% of owners buy clothes for their pets at least once a month. The global pet market is estimated at nearly € 100 billion and, by 2026, Forbes expects an evolution of a further 23%.

So much so that many luxury brands are starting to imagine pieces designed specifically for our animal friends. In the wake of Dior or Fendi, it is therefore the turn of Gucci to release a line dedicated to our little furballs.

From 27 June 2022, in some physical stores of the Florentine house, as well as on its eshop, we can therefore find products intended for animals (which some intelligent people will obviously try to divert to use them as jewelry on a human scale).

Finally, note that most of the pieces in this collection are made from vegetable (cotton) or synthetic (polyester) materials. What sometimes looks like skin is actually Demetra: ” a material obtained from raw materials not of animal origin, mainly from sustainable, renewable and biological sources says Gucci.

Being Gucci at all costs, right up to the end of his pet’s claws

It’s Kiki, it’s Gucci.

So ok, it’s overpriced, but that doesn’t stop you from appreciating the lovability of some pieces. He remembers, however, that animals each have their own personalities and that some will not support this type of accessory, particularly due to their smell. It is therefore advisable not to force them, and to be attentive to possible recoil movements, as explained by Sylvia Masson, European veterinarian specializing in the medicine of pet behavior, about dog-fashion influencers.

But who really has the means and the desire to indulge themselves in Gucci until the end of their pet’s claws?
