For those who have known Madmoizelle for a while, remember our section “In the apartment of …” ? Stopped in 2017, it is back in service now.
For this eighth episode we will visit Clarisse’s house, very well furnished.
In Clarisse’s apartment

- What is your name and your age?
Clarisse, and I am 36 years old.
- What do you do for a living ?
I am passionate about Do it yourself and I have the opportunity to transform this passion into work, thanks to my own company: the Tiny Little Craft workshops, creative workshops for all your events (team building, company evenings, commercial entertainment, QVT program, bachelorette party, etc.)

- What is the pedigree of your apartment? (location, how many square meters, monthly fee or purchase price)
I’ve lived in a house for seven years now! In a small village of Val-d’Oise, approximately 170 m², on two floors, with kitchen, living room, dining room, toilet on the ground floor and three bedrooms, one bathroom, on the first floor, toilet and finally on the 2nd a bathroom with tub and my workshop. The purchase price was 425,000 euros.

It’s a big big house, I think it took me over a year to stop getting the wrong doors and to appropriate all the rooms. Today we relaxed in this large space!
- You live alone?
No, with my boyfriend, our 10 year old daughter and our cat.

- If you had to give a word or phrase to describe your accommodation, what would it be?
A peaceful and serene cocoon that looks like us!
- If you were to interview your apartment, what would be its positive and negative aspects?
The good points: The light in the house is magnificent at any time of the day. The charm of the old! This house is truly a favorite, with its old, worn and aged parquet floor, which creaks when walking on the broken slats, its cast iron radiators, its 2nd floor workshop.

We imagine many stories in this house. Another positive point: the proximity to the train station. We live opposite. For many people the station is rather bad, synonymous with noise and insecurity. But for us it is very convenient, because it is close to transport to Paris. Very little noise and no insecurity as we are in a quiet town.
The negative points: it’s a bit too cold there in winter, as in all old houses, but a big sweater, a good blanket and a hot chocolate come to comfort us.
- Can you show us one (or more) objects that we can only find at home? An object found, manufactured, inherited …
We have many decorations Do it yourself at home (because I create many for my work). There are vases, decorated candles, concrete mushrooms, recycled lamps.

These items created for print tutorial needs are unique. You won’t find them anywhere else! And my lover also personally designed some furniture in our living room, which we are very proud of. We have also inherited from the previous owners a huge wooden wardrobe, as old as our house, impossible to move, but which gives a crazy charm to our living room.

- Do you have a decoration idea, not too expensive or even DIY that you are too proud of and want to share?
Yes, of course, my homemade dried flower bell, as beautiful as in the shop, but made with my little hands!

- IS that you had a big cracked wallet for something in your house?
Recently, two lamps from MADE.COM that we love. And if not, our piano, which gives life to the living room, but which dates back to a few years ago!

- What are your decorative quirks?
Change the small decorative place on the furniture regularly to get the impression of a new universe and give me inspiration, and buy large armfuls of eucalyptus and craspedia several times a year to decorate the different vases in the house. Seeing fresh plants calms my mind and makes me feel peaceful.

When I have time, I love to go around flea markets and collect beautiful pieces that I repaint, misdirect and reuse according to my inspiration.
- Where do you feel most at home?
Definitely our living room, large, bright and welcoming. I could spend my days there, curled up on the sofa with a good book or playing a board game with the family.

- What is the music that plays most often in your home?
He is my lover who often plays the piano and who shares beautiful melodies with us.

- Do you follow Instagram accounts for decoration inspiration?
Yes: @clematc which always brings quality brands to light with useful and intelligent products, or @leblogdartlex for its inimitable universe and @studiojonsie for its graphics full of poetry and joie de vivre.
- Do you have work or decoration projects?
No major works or decoration projects, but with the arrival of summer I want to flourish the garden and plant tomatoes and strawberries in the gardens… Continue!

- How long do you see yourself living in your home?
A few more years before leaving, perhaps one day, abroad or in Corsica, to live in the sun!
Thanks to Clarisse for this nice visit!
