A tourist rescued from Vilyuchinsky Volcano in Kamchatka

A group of three fell from the height while climbing at 18:00 local time. The savior reached all three, but the help was too late for the two. A boy and girl died of injuries in autumn, although the savior was already nearby. The survivor of the climb was found on the slope – conscious, but exhausted and could not go. The landing was complex with a strong wind and a steep slope.

The operation lasted all night, more than 40 people joined: Savior, doctors and volunteers. The girl was lowered on a stretcher from a height of 1.5 km. According to the Minister of Emergency of the Kamchatka region Sergey Lebey, he could go on his own, but he was very dangerous because of fatigue and conditions. “Very slippery, wind and steep slope,” he said.

As it is understood, tourists began to rise without the recording and coordination of the route. As of July 1, the rise to the Vilyuchinsky volcano is officially banned – the rocks are noted on the slopes and the emergency mode is valid. In spite of the warnings, the group decided to ignore the bans and go to the top. “Nobody wants to take it, sad, you go on a journey – record, Leb Lebedev said about the situation.

Vilyuchinsky Volcano is exhausted at a height of 2173 meters. It is located near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and usually attracts tourists. However, even in summer, the summit is covered with heavy snow and ice and becomes extremely dangerous.
