Apple surprised fans with the usual decision to leave the iOS digital number. Instead of the expected iOS 19, the company will immediately present iOS 26.
According to Bloomberg, such a transition will eliminate the confusion between users and developers – now the versions of different systems have different numbers, but they are about approximately at the same time. The new approach will allow all Apple platforms to have a single index that corresponds to the version year starting from 2026.
