Fernanda Torres wins prestigious film award for first time in almost 40 years

Fernanda Torres won the Golden Globe for Best Actress (Drama) for her role in I’m Still Here, the star’s first major film win in 39 years. In 1986, she won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival for the movie Love Me Forever or Never.

The Brazilian player thanked his fans and admitted that he did not plan to speak. “I didn’t prepare anything because I was already so happy [номинации]” he explained.

I’m Still Here is a political drama based on the memoirs of the protagonist’s son, Marcelo Rubens Paiva. The plot focuses on former congressman Rubens Paiva (Selton Melo), who openly opposes the military dictatorship that has newly come to power in Brazil. His wife, Eunice (Fernanda Torres), witnesses his kidnapping in 1971. Rubens was taken directly from his home in Rio de Janeiro under the pretext that he had to give a statement, and since then his traces have been lost. Eunice has been struggling for years to learn the truth about her husband’s fate. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2024.
