We are closing the year with records! On December 26 at 15:00, Viktor Doronin covered the distance of 1111 km without a break from sleep. The athlete’s challenge, which started at 04.30 on December 24, consisted of 3 stages: 10 km swimming in the indoor pool, 1001 km cycling and 100 km running.
The hardest thing for Victor was the bike ride, which lasted more than one day. It turned out that the athlete moved forward despite vision problems, wind and 27-degree heat.
Difficulties awaited Doronin in the final stage of the fight. His hip hurt. However, regardless of his discomfort, he reached the end of the distance and set a new world endurance record: 9 hours 13 minutes 45 seconds.
Thus, Victor wanted to prove that human possibilities are unlimited. By the way, you can learn more about the sports achievements of the record holder in VK Video. On November 21, the documentary mini-series “Overcome 1111” was released on the online platform. While the project describes Doronin’s experiences and doubts on the way to his goals, the opinions of instructors and doctors about his hobby are also presented.
Doronin also has other records. He cycled through the Dubai desert without any rest (a distance of 1001 km) and crossed the Sahara Desert.
