“It’s cruel to be deprived of your privacy as a teenager, in your early 20s, and to be subjected to such intense scrutiny while you’re still growing up,” the artist said. “Without this period, I would not have the financial stability or career I have now,” Keira Knightley continued. “I had a period between the ages of 17 and 21 and I will never be this successful again. It completely prepared me for life. Was it expensive? Yes, it is expensive,” the star added.

The celebrity stated that he could not recommend the same thing to his children because he knew the price. “But am I grateful for this? Yes. But that’s life, right? Fortunately, my children are not interested at all,” concluded Keira Knightley.

Speaking further about the personal cost of his success, the actor admitted that he was a victim of persecution at a young age: “I didn’t think it was normal at the time. It was absolutely shocking to me. There was a lot of excitement with a lot of guys saying, “You asked for it.” This was the language of rape. You know, “This is what you deserve.” “It was a very violent, misogynistic atmosphere.”

Keira Knightley previously explained why she would no longer act in TV series. Read the details here.
