Comedian Conan O’Brien will host the 97th Academy Awards, which will take place on March 2, 2025. This was announced by American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Bill Kramer and Academy president Janet Young. This will be O’Brien’s first time as master of ceremonies, Deadline reports.
“With his great sense of humour, love of cinema and live television experience, he is perfectly suited to host our global celebration of cinema. Academy representatives stated that his incredible ability to find a common language with the audience will unite the audience.
O’Brien himself admitted that he did not expect such a decision. Previous hosts have included Jimmy Kimmel and John Mulaney, who both said goodbye this year. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds were also considered, but in the end the choice fell on O’Brien.
Halle Berry previously repeated her iconic Oscars look more than 20 years later. See the photo here.
