Scientists have officially confirmed the connection between a person’s personality traits and his chosen profession. According to them, stereotypes about the characters of representatives of certain professions are not a myth, but a fact.
According to the results of the research published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, it was revealed which personality traits are more common among representatives of various professions. For this, scientists examined the profiles of approximately 70 thousand people working in more than 260 fields.
It seems that creative professions such as designer, artist or writer often attract individuals who are open to new experiences and even curious. Sales and public relations jobs often involve extroverts. The neuroticism level of management representatives was lower than the majority of participants.
