The 75-year-old actor was expected to appear in court in Paris today, October 28, on charges of sexual assault. However, Gerard Depardieu did not appear there. He stated that he prohibited doctors from attending the hearing for health reasons.

Lawyer Jerome Asso announced his star client’s request to postpone the hearing due to unspecified health problems he had with the actor. “Depardieu is very upset and unfortunately doctors have banned him from attending the hearing, so he will ask for the hearing to be postponed to a later date so he can attend,” the lawyer said, according to the Daily Mail.
The artist is accused of sexually assaulting two women on the set of the movie “Green Shutters” in 2021. Both women said the actor rudely harassed them, forced them to have sex and made threats. One of the victims, who worked as a production designer on the set, said Gérard Depardieu began making obscene remarks about her the day before she was attacked. According to her, he pressed her against the wall, put his hand between her legs, touched the intimate parts of her body, accompanied the actions with obscene words.
According to the prosecutor, three people who saw this confirmed that the plaintiff was trying to escape from the artist’s grasp and were shocked. After the incident, the psychiatrist gave him seven days off. Depardieu promised to apologize to her, but instead he became enraged and accused her of causing trouble on the set. Eyewitnesses also confirmed this. The woman noted that the attack negatively affected her personal and professional life for at least a year and a half. He slept poorly, had anxiety attacks, and lost weight.
In contrast, another plaintiff, an assistant director of the film, told investigators that the actor touched her buttocks several times. When he got angry, he rudely insulted her. As a result, the girl was also sent on six-day leave at the insistence of a psychiatrist. Gerard Depardieu still insists on his innocence.
Previously, France 2 TV channel broadcast a documentary in which 16 women accused Gerard Depardieu of sexual harassment. The actor will face a separate trial in connection with an alleged rape case by actress Charlotte Arnoux. The 28-year-old artist claims that the incident occurred in 2018. The claim was initially denied, but was later reviewed.
