“The Summer Book” tells the lively story of a young girl and her grandmother who spend the summer on a small island in the Gulf of Finland. Filming took place in Finland in the summer of 2023.
“It is an honor to adapt one of my favorite stories, Tove Jansson’s The Summer Book, and to shoot the film in the beautiful country where the story takes place, Finland. Working with Glenn Close (actor and eight-time Oscar nominee) Note ed.) has been my dream for a long time. “I have long admired her thoughtfulness, her immeasurable versatility and her utterly captivating presence on both stage and screen,” said Charlie.
