Irina Bolgar responded to the statement of the representative Pavel Durov in a banned social network that he spent the children’s budget on her.
Irina admitted that Pavel himself paid for the major expenses and his assistant covered smaller purchases. Bulgarians could also access accounts as second card holders with permission to use them. He could spend up to 150,000 euros a month. All this is confirmed by a notarized agreement.
Irina recalled her holiday in 2022: “We stayed in a villa in Sardinia that cost 23,000 euros per day. For reference, a penthouse in Dubai, where I live with Pavel, or a royal suite at the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, or a royal suite at the Ritz hotel in Paris can sometimes be even more expensive. “These were our normal expenses.”
“He couldn’t understand why, with unlimited access to financial resources, I would choose to live a middle-class life rather than rent a Bentley just to carry my coat around Paris. She was upset that I didn’t have any maids and didn’t at least hire a housekeeper, waiter, manager, or move into one of the castles she recommended and sent me dozens of options to consider. In his opinion, I wasn’t spending enough money to maintain a high standard of living. Bolgar said he constantly “accuses me of having a middle-class mentality.”
