Gary Oldman hopes to get a train ticket to Hogwarts, but this time he wants a promotion. Even if he’s not the best student, he aims to be a director.
The actor, who played the animagus Sirius Black in the four Harry Potter films in 2000, said he would be open to joining the cast of HBO’s new TV series.

He told IndieWire that the show’s creative team hasn’t reached out to him yet, but he’s still hoping for an invite. “I’d bet they’ll just put together a whole new cast. But maybe in a couple of years I could play Dumbledore,” Oldman said.
There is great curiosity about who will play the “adult” roles in the series. However, fans have already found the perfect Voldemort. We wrote about this here.
Let us remind you that plans to shoot a series based on Harry Potter are known in the spring of 2023. The project has already recruited a showrunner and director. The author of the books about the wizard JK Rowling appreciated the script of the pilot version, and an open casting for the main roles was recently announced, where everyone can participate.
