Denis Villeneuve is ready to leave the Dune universe, saying the third installment of the series will be his last. But the story doesn’t end there.
The director explained that Dune is not a trilogy. He sees his work as a diptych and believes that the third part, which is currently being written, will stand alone.
“There are seeds of a project in Messiah. Maybe someone wants to do something else later because they are great books. But they are harder to adapt. “They are becoming more and more esoteric,” Villeneuve told Vanity Fair.
