James Earl Jones, who voiced the main villain of the Star Wars universe, has died at the age of 93. The actor passed away on Monday morning.
Jones’ manager, Barry McPherson, told The Associated Press that Jones died at his home. Jones voiced the lion Mufasa in The Lion King and starred in many iconic films, including Stanley Kubrick’s “Dr. Strangelove, or How I Stopped Be Afraid and Loved the Bomb,” “Conan the Barbarian,” “Coming to America” and “Patriot Games.”
His most famous work was voicing Darth Vader in six episodes of Star Wars. It is known that the villain will continue to speak with the voice of James Earl Johnson in all subsequent episodes, no matter how many. In 2022, the actor made a deal with Disney that will allow the company to recreate Johnson’s voice. This has already been done in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
