Actor Paul Mescal hasn’t watched Gladiator in 20 years, deliberately ignoring the saga while playing the sequel.
The 28-year-old actor last saw the film when he was a child, considering the original film was released in 2000. Paul admitted he was worried about whether Gladiator 2 would live up to its predecessor, which saw Russell Crowe win an Oscar for his portrayal of the enslaved general Maximus Decimus Meridius.
“Although I had concerns about whether our film would live up to its first, I am now completely calm. I am actually sure of it,” Mescal told Empire magazine.
We recently wrote that fans have re-made the official trailer for the movie “Gladiator 2” in anticipation. If a film company’s video is drowning in dislikes, amateur editing breaks viewing records.
