The lawsuit was filed by the Artist Revenue Advocates, an organization that has been handing over rights to songs to artists after several years of unsuccessful attempts to collect royalties from record sales. The musicians have worked with Eminem, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd in the past.

We are talking about two tracks: “Moon” and “Hurricane”, the latter of which received a Grammy in 2022. In 2018, the artists worked together on several ideas and included them in a composition package, offering it for sale. Allegedly, you asked for permission to use the music of “Hurricane”, but were denied.

The rapper is accused of using the music despite the creators’ ban and did not even credit the musicians as writers and producers after the music was released. It is reported that West has earned millions of dollars from his compositions.

The lawsuit also alleges that Kanye indirectly profited from his partnerships with Gap and Balenciaga during the album release of these songs.
