Global sports streamer DAZN has signed on as the world’s leading marketing guru BT.
Pete Oliver has spent the past two decades in BT’s customer service, marketing and distribution, most recently leading BT Sport and BT Fiber.
In the newly created role of DAZN London, he will lead the group’s global marketing teams and distribution partnerships as the company decentralizes and seeks to grow in markets outside the UK.
Deadline revealed last week that around 5% of the UK’s 1,100 employees will be laid off, while hiring is underway in other countries such as Spain, where DAZN will broadcast La Liga football soon.
Oliver is one of the few world leaders to have joined in the past few months.
CEO Shay Segev said he has “extensive experience developing and growing transformative consumer brands.”
“Their Experience in marketing, CRM and distribution. “It will be invaluable as we continue to see DAZN’s vision to expand into new content and become a leading and favorite sports entertainment venue,” he added.
Oliver said: “As a longtime sports fan and DAZN subscriber, I watch from afar as DAZN continues to grow to allow fans to watch their favorite sport.”
