As Altapress.ru reports, these insects have an unusually sensitive olfactory system and can detect the smell that is most attractive to them from a distance of up to 30 meters. What really attracts them? No, it’s not about clear skin. They are all caused by a specific combination of microorganisms.
Each person has their own set of microbes that make up their immune system, and it is their “ingredients” that attract mosquitoes. So two canvases were placed in the room: clean and human-scented. The experiment showed that mosquitoes prefer to land on canvas by scent.
Scientists also found that mosquitoes prefer birds in summer and mammals at other times. But this does not apply to us: Here they feed on the blood of all kinds of creatures, because they only survive in summer.
