Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has made a call to fans after Chelsea’s sale to a consortium of businessmen led by Todd Boeli.

The entrepreneur said his search was a success and wished Chelsea’s new owners good luck both on and off the pitch.

Recently, at the beginning of May, a well-known deal was completed – a group of investors bought Chelsea for 5.2 billion dollars. Of these, 3.1 billion will be placed in a frozen bank account in the UK to be later transferred to charities. The remaining 2.1 billion will be donated to charities by their new owners. Abramovic will not receive any income from the deal.

He led the entrepreneurial club for twelve years. During this time, Chelsea became the champion of England five times, five times – winner of the FA Cup, three times – winner of the English League Cup, twice won the National Super Cup, Champions League and Europa League. In 2021, Chelsea won the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

The club may face operational difficulties after the UK imposed sanctions on Abramovic in early March and froze its assets. As a result, the country’s government granted Abramovich a temporary license to sell Chelsea.
