51-year-old actor Idris Elba announced his decision to participate in the James Bond movie. He’s not looking to become the next “agent 007.” The actor was pleased to have been approached regularly for the role of Bond since 2009. However, he firmly believes that this role is not for him.
“I’m probably more famous for not playing Bond than some of the actors who did! You know, everyone loves Bond. “What an amazing character he is, and that’s been a compliment to me all these years,” Elba said on Radio X’s morning show.
It was recently reported that Aaron Taylor-Johnson could star in four James Bond films, following “endless discussions” with studio executives. Insiders at the Daily Mail claim they want to take the series into a new era with a “fantasy” twist.
While the 33-year-old British actor has reportedly been officially approached to play 007, sources claim bosses have gone to extraordinary lengths to recruit him.
