Step Up stars Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum can’t complete their divorce. This time the ex-spouses are sharing the proceeds from the Magic Mike movie.
Six years after their split, Channing and Jenna are taking each other to court over the distribution of profits from the popular brand. Duan’s lawyers argue that the couple co-developed “Magic Mike” and possibly the film’s “highly profitable” spinoffs, which means Duan is entitled to the proceeds from them.
“Tatum and his partners created a complex web of LLCs, holding companies, and partnerships to dilute and conceal the value and royalty income from this intellectual property sharing,” Duan was quoted as saying in PEOPLE’s statement.
The movie Magic Mike, produced and starring Tatum, was released in theaters in 2012. Sequels were released in 2015 and 2023. Additionally, 2021 saw the release of a reality TV series and the popular live-action Magic Mike in Las Vegas.
In response to Duane’s allegations, Tatum’s attorneys complained that a divorce settlement has still not been reached. At the same time, the actor assures that he does not hide his income from his wife. Lawyers noted that Channing Tatum exhausted all possibilities to resolve his separation with his ex-wife without trial.

The former couple met on the set of the movie Step Up in 2005. They married four years later in Malibu. And in 2018, they announced their separation. “We decided to separate. Many years ago, we fell deeply in love with each other and went on a magical journey together. And we still love each other, but love is a wonderful adventure that takes us on different paths,” they explained the reason for their separation. Read the love story of the stars here!
