Here is the trend of the most divisive shoes of the moment, half ballerina and half sneaker

A strappy ballerina on a thick rubber sneaker sole is the unexpected combination offered by several cutting-edge brands such as Simone Rocha, Rombaut, Ecco x Natacha Ramsay-Levi, Buffalo and Salomon. And you either love it or hate it.

As more and more people spend their lives in basketball, especially after the pandemic, the return of the hype for the ballerina is timid. But the fusion of the two, however surprising and confusing, has already won over the most intrepid fashionistas, already fans of the balletcore aesthetic, on TikTok.

Raise your hand if you too have recently been obsessed with the chunky ballerina/sneaker trend 🤚 I’ve searched high and low to find brands that have this type of shoe but are a little more affordable than Simone Rocha’s and these are the ones My Top 3: 1. Akiko Aoki: ‘Giselle’ 2. Foundry Mews: ‘Posie Lace Up’ 3. Lazy Oaf: ‘Happy Sad Lace Up Ballet Sneaker’ They all sell out very quickly but at least I’ve seen Akiko Aoki and Foundry Mews restock them so I recommend keeping an eye on their pages! #balletflats #laceupballetflats #simonerocha #akikoaoki #foundrymews #lazyoaf #fashiontrend2023 #shoetrend #cuteshoes #fashiontips #hotgirlsdontgatekeep

Where to find cheap ballet sneakers?

It all started with Simone Rocha’s spring-summer 2021 show.

Since then, several brands have proposed their version, such as the Buffalo brand with its Binary Ballet model.

OR Echo with designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi (former CEO of Chloé from 2017 to 2020).

Salomon also offers very technical models that can be worn both in the city and during excursions.

Camper is also full of models with sporty soles that are more or less compensated depending on your level of stylistic recklessness.

Special mention to the British brand Lazy idiot who has made it her specialty, with many bold and creative references to ballerinas precisely in the flirtatious aesthetic, around 150 euros on average.

How to wear ballet flats?

To wear ballet flats, almost anything is possible since they are already the result of a fusion of seemingly opposite styles. We can therefore make them more elegant with a blouse with a bow, an oversized blazer and a pleated or full skirt, or very wide suit trousers. Or play it sportier with a retro zip-up track jacket, tank top, and cargo or parachute pants.
