Here’s the amount of annual income you’d feel financially secure with (study)
According to an American study conducted in several countries, in France more than 45% of individuals would feel secure with an annual salary of 50,000 euros.

How much annual income will you need to sleep soundly? The calculations were made by the American media CNBC and the polling institute SurveyMonkey. In a study published on Wednesday 3 April, they analyzed what annual income individuals would feel financially secure by interviewing people in several countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico, Singapore, but also France.

4% of French people believe they will never be able to feel financially secure

The survey offered four annual income ranges to respondents so they could express their opinion: 50,000 euros, 100,000 euros, 500,000 euros and 1 million euros (or dollars depending on the country). Some respondents believe they will never feel financially secure.

In France they are 45%, almost an absolute majoritybelieve they can be financially secure by winning 50,000 euros per year. So 30% consider it starting from 100,000 euros per year, 13% at 500,000 euros and 4% at 1 million. However, around 4% believe they will never feel financially secure.

Answers that depend on various factors: the share of debts and credits per person, the savings made in case of emergency, the fact of being a parent or not, or even more generally, the cost of living in the country of residence.
