Yet another offensive against women’s right to control their desire or otherwise to have children in the United States, among the many implemented since the repeal of the Roe v. Wade, who guaranteed the right to abortion in the country.
The last one? A bill filed in Oklahoma, which already prohibits abortion, except in cases of danger to the pregnant woman.
Ban on the use of contraceptives that would prevent “implantation of a fertilized egg »
Kevin Westa conservative Republican state representative, recently introduced a bill that would define the beginning of life as the moment a sperm fertilizes an egg. This is what the text says to prohibit the morning-after pill, but also to prevent health workers from prescribing the spiral. Clearly, all emergency contraception would be banned.
More specifically, this bill aims to ban women from using used contraception.” to prevent implantation of a fertilized egg ”, and would therefore compare its use to an abortion.

Ban over-the-counter contraceptive pills and IUDs
To do this, Kevin West wants birth control pills and IUDs to end they are available by prescription onlyand no longer over the counter. Issuing it would therefore be a crime for doctors and purchasing it would be a crime for women who wanted to use it. Those found guilty may face charges up to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
Several state elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, have expressed concern about this bill. The text will be examined by elected officials in March.
