Channing Tatum, known for films such as “Macho Man”, “Dear John” and “The Oath”, will play the leading role in the movie about the McDonald’s robber. The film will be directed and written by Kirk Gunn and Derek Cianfrance (“The Place Beyond the Pines”, “The Light Among Oceans”, “Valentine”). The producers of the project were Dylan Sellers and Chris Parker. Roofman’s release date is not yet known.
The film will be based on the true story of Jeffrey Manchester, who is famous for robbing McDonald’s. He entered fast food restaurants from the roof, somehow managed to distract the staff and then emptied the cash registers. In 2000, he was finally caught and sent to prison, but he managed to escape from there. He hid from the police in supermarkets for a long time, but was later caught thanks to the fingerprints he left in one of the stores.
By the way, we previously wrote that Channing Tatum and Ryan Reynolds will play brothers in the crime comedy. Read more here.
