14 thousand pins and 675 hours of work: How Miley Cyrus’s Grammys dress was created

One of the most striking and memorable images of the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony – 2024 was definitely Miley Cyrus. The star arrived to collect her first two statuettes in spectacular fashion for her viral song Flowers, topping various best-dressed lists. The golden “nude” dress could not help but attract all the attention, and perhaps thanks to it, we will remember this year’s ceremony, because, it must be said, the Grammys this time were no different.

From the first seconds of Miley Cyrus entering the Crypto.com arena, we immediately realized that this image would be discussed for days to come. And when we managed to take a closer look, there was no doubt. The leading star of the 2024 Grammy Awards walked the red carpet of the ceremony in a Maison Margiela-designed “Cleopatra” dress, referencing John Galliano’s 1997 collection. The next day, the fashion house shared the process of creating the look: Made from 14,000 gold safety pins and stones, the dress took 675 hours of painstaking work. And it was definitely worth it.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus wore a gorgeous dress in a duet with recognizable shoes (Maison Margiela tabis) from the latest Artisanal couture collection created in collaboration with Christian Louboutin. Makeup artist James Kaliardos and stylist Bob Resin were responsible for the beauty look.
