Do it in the elevator, on the plane, with others… Almost all of us have more or less permissible fantasies. And this is precisely the object of the latest study by the French Institute of Public Opinion for LELO, conducted between December 29, 2023 and January 2, 2024, via self-administered online questionnaire among 1,911 adults, intended to form a representative sample of the population French adult. As always with this type of study, it is best to take it with a grain of salt and a critical perspective, especially when it is commissioned by a brand. But it is particularly interesting if we compare the contemporary results with those of the year 2000.
In France we think about sex at least once a day
From this Ifop study for LELO it appears thaton average we would think about sex twice a day in 2024, compared to 1.5 times in 2000. Since it is declarative, it is difficult to know whether it is because we think about it more and more and/or whether it is rather because we are more likely to think about it regularly.
Obviously the results also differ depending on the gender: for men it goes from 2.5 in 2000 to 3 times a day in 2024. As for women, they would remain constant between 2000 and 2024, with 1 sexual thought per day, officially. It is therefore clearly men who drive this average up, unsurprisingly. The most surprising thing, however, perhaps lies in what the average woman dares to say…
