A leading figure of the “literary far right”
The minister’s reaction echoes an article published on January 18th Publication. Signed by 1,200 actors from the cultural world, the text firmly opposes this nomination. Among the signatories we find personalities such as Baptiste Beaulieu and Chloé Delaume, according to whom Tesson’s presence “reinforces the banalization and normalization of the far right”.
The signatories recall in particular that the writer stated “ a reference work of the far right, Camp des saints, by Jean Raspail “, and was presented as an important figure of the “literary extreme right” by journalist François Krug.
The Ministry of Culture is one of the main supporters of the Spring of Poets, also coordinated by the association of the same name, the National Book Center and the Ministry of Education. It will take place from 9 to 25 March.
