Taylor Swift stronger than Elvis Presley, with 68 weeks at the top of the charts

It’s a historic record, and she achieved it at just 34 years old. Taylor Swift has surpassed Elvis Presley by reigning at the top of the US charts for 68 weeks.

The queen surpassed the king. After being named Personality of the Year by Times last December 6th Taylor Swift surpassed Elvis Presleysetting a record in music history.

Thirteen albums in the charts

At 34 years old, the country girl became longest-running dominant solo artist classification Billboard 200 most played and sold albums. Until now the record was held by “King”, which had remained at the top of the American charts for 67 weeks with 10 albums, between 1956 and 2002. According to information from the magazine Scoreboard released on December 31, 2023, Taylor Swift’s albums dominated the chart 68 weeksand this, all album categories combined.

But that is not all. The artist set a second record the number of albums that reached number one on the charts. Not less than Thirteen of his albums took the lead. This feat includes his latest work, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” released at the end of the year, ending 2023 in first place for the fifth non-consecutive week.


Currently the absolute record for weeks at the top of the chart is held by the Beatles with 132 weeks at the top of the charts. At the speed with which the cultural, artistic and economic influence of Taylor Swift expands, we wonder if it will take much longer to achieve this feat.
