After seven years full of exchanges, meetings and feminist reflections, Lauren Bastide has announced the end of her podcast “La Poudre”. In an interview with Causette, she shared the reasons for this decision and outlined her future plans.

“The Dust”, 2016 – 2023. Launched seven years ago, Lauren Bastide’s emblematic podcast is about to close its doors, after having established itself as an institution of feminist thought with its 200 episodes, downloaded more than twenty million times.

As reported by Huffington PostLauren Bastide explained that she made her decision last October during the prestigious Paris Podcast Festival at Gaité Lyrique, where she was awarded the award for best conversation podcast:

“I felt that the time had come to stop, that the circle had closed and that La Poudre had become a sort of institution. I also think I’ve explored almost all the themes. »

Launched two years before #MeToo, the podcast has witnessed nearly a decade of feminism, during which we’ve seen access to feminist resources democratized, as Lauren Bastide exults:


Today, in any case, there are dozens of feminist podcasts. There are many places where women are given a voice. I don’t feel like I’m leaving a desert, she rejoices. (…) I leave the heiresses and it is extremely joyful. »

Entry into the resistance

For Lauren Bastide, the end of “La Poudre” coincides with the “end of a feminist cycle” and the beginning of a new phase of struggle : “We are perhaps less in elation, hope and joy, as we have been in recent years, but more in a feeling of resistance. »

Lauren Bastide intends to continue taking part in this resistance. The latter announced it a brand new podcastof which he confided: “I think it will speak to a lot of people”.
