Sarah Ferguson joins the royal family’s Christmas walk for the first time in years

On Christmas morning in Britain, the king led the royal family’s traditional walk to church from his Sandringham home in Norfolk, eastern England, which was also attended by some famous faces.

The couple divorced in 1996 but remained close, living in the same house and often seen together with their daughters Beatrice and Eugenie.

Later on Christmas Day, in his second festive Christmas broadcast to the country, King Charles called for the preservation of the planet and peace for all.

Charles said:

“In the Christmas story, angels first brought the message of hope to the shepherds. These were people who simply lived among God’s creatures; Those who were close to nature were privileged that night.

“We can do everything we can to protect each other. The words of Jesus seem more relevant than ever: Treat others as they would treat you… It is a reminder for us to put ourselves in the shoes of our neighbors.”

Charles said his message was for “those who care about our shared home and those who look for the good in others.” This is how we bring out the best in ourselves.

“I wish you a Christmas full of peace on earth and goodwill to all, today and always.”

While the king’s 10-minute broadcast included footage of members of the royal family at work, his second son Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle were absent. The gap between the two branches of the royal family looks unbridgeable as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spend the festive season abroad.
