About reputation, principles and daily routine: a rare interview with 78-year-old Leonid Yakubovich

Leonid Yakubovich gave a long interview to comedian Sergei Mezentsev, in which he told how he feels at 78 (spoiler: magnificent), his reputation and life principles.

Leonid Arkadyevich admitted that he is not very interested in what is written about him on the Internet. “It’s funny. There’s a short distance between very good and very bad,” he shares.

“That’s not what I care about. I’m worried about the tone of voice. <…> Our entire internet is anonymous. Later, after a very long time, I realized that I shouldn’t have been angry. In some way I feel sorry for these people, something is not right in their lives and I want it to be known. I understand this feeling, so it is no longer so important what you write: disgusting, nonsense, lies,” explains the artist.

He also talked about his daily routine. “I came to you after tennis. I will go flying in the evening. At night I will finish writing the play. I sleep 3-4 hours. “On Saturday and Sunday I have four recordings of three hours each,” admits the host of the cult show “Field of Miracles”. He added that he still performs in theaters.

The artist shared the advice his mother gave him at that time. “My mother drilled into me that you must live by this principle: your whore cannot boss you around. “If you want to lie down, sit, if you want to sit, stand, if you want to stand, walk, if you want to walk, run,” she says. And the second principle sounded like this: “I want, therefore I can.”

The TV presenter also admitted that in life she has always done what she truly loves. “I was incredibly lucky; Everything I did in life was something I loved, without exception. And I never had to give up anything because I was in so much pain. From day one. I came to work, I was 16, I was 61. I was absolutely amazed by the plant; “They made me a human being,” he said.
