Rapper Little Simz signs a pair of vibrant limited edition Vans

British rapper, musician and actress Simbi Ajikawo, aka Little Simz, has just reinterpreted the classic Vans Slip-On, making its iconic checkerboard pattern more vibrant and colorful. A great achievement available in a limited edition until 31 December 2023.

Should we still introduce Simbiatu Ajikawo by her real name, shortened to “Simbi” as a diminutive, which ended up giving birth to Little Simz as her artist name? She is an outstanding British artist, well known as a rapper and musician, but also as an actress like her in the series The best guy. The independent artist is not yet thirty years old but has already released five highly successful albums (A curious story of trials + people in 2015, The quiet in wonderland in 2016, Gray area in 2019, I might be introverted at times in 2021 and No thank you in 2022). Under his dizzying flow, he’s the guy who mixes symphony orchestras, African percussion and gospel choirs to evoke both systemic racism and his own mental health issues in his lyrics. In addition to her musical and writing talent, she is also sometimes known for this tomboy, sometimes ultra sophisticated, often in Vans on stage. It is therefore not surprising that the action sports brand offered to reinterpret a flagship model.

The look of the Vans Slip-On reinterpreted by rapper Little Simz

A big fan of the Slip-On silhouette, Little Simz chose to rewrite it to make it her own. He distorted the iconic black and white checkerboard to give it a vibrant glitch effect, just the right amount of color to make it pop whilst remaining easy to wear and match. In short, a model full of style, like Little Simz available on the brand’s eshop and in a selection of physical stores until 31 December 2023, sizes from 34.5 to 52, at the price of €105. Our banker doesn’t say thank you.
