A useful step back from the government. Finally, it will still be possible to pay for groceries using restaurant vouchers, confirmed the Minister delegated to Small and Medium Enterprises. Olivia Gregoire on M6 this Tuesday 14 November.
The 5 million employees who benefit from meal vouchers will still be able to purchase non-consumable products such as rice or pasta until 31 December 2024.
This is a common sense measure, useful to the French. pic.twitter.com/GeVuugmjgy

Towards a lasting extension
Because from August 2022 the use of restaurant vouchers has been extended to all food products, and not just directly consumable ones. We could thus buy pasta, rice, eggs or even fish, with restaurant vouchers, with a ceiling set at 25 euros per day.
But this exemption, established to improve purchasing power in a context of inflation, was due to expire on January 1, 2024, with no prospect of renewal. A change that made people shudder, especially among the most precarious.
But ultimately, this measure will be extended to the whole of 2024, announced Olivia Grégoire. The Minister of Economy Bruno Le Mairegoes even further, and is considering an extension beyond one year: “ I’m ready to open the discussion on the more general use of these tickets to purchase food », declared the Europe 1 minister.
